The Jubilee Parks Fund has been running for a number of years and has helped to improve playgrounds and other park facilities across Bromley Borough. Local residents will have already seen improvements in the form of a new children’s play area at Coney Hall Recreation Ground. The final round of funding bids will open at the end of January. Cllrs. Coldspring-White, Michael and Turrell have decided to submit an application to improve the playground facilities at Husseywell Park.
Working alongside Council officers and local residents, we are in the process of setting up a temporary residents’ group in order to submit the bid. We have also started the fundraising process from local community groups which will maximise the likelihood of the bid’s success. To date, 308 people across Hayes have added their signatures to a form to demonstrate public support for the project.
The three of us have been heartened by the positive support from residents for the project. We would especially like to thank the local community groups who have agreed to support the project by making a financial contribution.
Cllr. Josh Coldspring-White said:
“Following on from a successful application by local residents to improve Coney Hall Rec, I am thrilled to begin working on a bid for funding with Alexa and Thomas to improve Husseywell Park.
“The reaction from local residents has been amazing and we look forward to sharing updates about our application’s progress. In the meantime, we want to thank those local residents and community groups who are working with us on this exciting project.”
