Hayes & Coney Hall Councillors joined Hayes residents in celebrating the news that their bid for funding to improve the playground at Husseywell Park has been accepted by Bromley Council.
The successful bid for funding from the Queen’s Jubilee Parks Fund comes after your Councillors secured initial monies from the Hayes (Kent) Village Association and the Hayes (Kent) Trust, as well as writing a letter of support for the project.
Hayes residents also contributed £2,000 as part of fundraising by the Husseywell Playground Project. Over 400 residents indicated their support for the proposals earlier this year.
In total, Husseywell Park playground is set to benefit from a cash injection of £14,000 – representing a significant investment in this much-cherished community asset.
Following the confirmation of funding, the Council is drawing up plans for the improvement. These should be in place by the end of the year.
Cllr. Josh Coldspring-White said:
“I am thrilled that Conservative-led Bromley Council has agreed to provide a significant funding boost to our campaign to enhance the facilities at Husseywell Park playground. I would like to thank those residents who contributed their own money towards the bid, as well as the Hayes (Kent) Residents Association and Hayes (Kent) Trust who agreed to donate funds following lobbying by my Ward colleagues and me.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the plans from the Council in the coming months, and for the playground to get much-needed investment. These improvements will secure it for children and families in Hayes for many years to come.”
