Cllr. Josh Coldspring-White

Cllrs. Josh Coldspring-White and Thomas Turrell have expressed their dissatisfaction with Transport for London (TfL) at the recent Public Transport Liaison Committee.

The Committee – convened by Bromley Council twice yearly and consisting of local Councillors, TfL, train and bus operators, plus representatives from the black cab industry – gave a chance for Councillors to express their displeasure at recent cuts to the frequency of services on the 138 bus route.

Residents have complained about the cuts to services and have backed the Councillors’ petition to the Mayor of London.

Shockingly, despite questions being submitted well in advance, the TfL representative failed to answer queries on the reasons behind the cuts to service.

On a more positive note, Southeastern confirmed that Hayes Station continues to be a priority for ticket barrier installation. They expect to submit a bid to the Department for Transport for funding later in the year.

Cllr. Josh Coldspring-White said:

“I am disgusted that TfL failed to provide any answers to Thomas and I on the important matter of cuts to the 138 service. This shows, once again, that TfL fail to understand the concerns raised by residents in Coney Hall, and that they simply don’t understand Outer London.

“Residents can rest assured we will continue to do all we can to see the cuts reversed. I look forward to seeing the petition presented to the Mayor at City Hall.

“On a more positive note, we’re glad to see our calls for ticket barriers at Hayes Station vindicated. We will work with Southeastern to see this realised in our efforts to clamp down on criminal and anti-social behaviour in our community.”
